How to convert 3D .stp to Shape2D view and export as .dxf

Hi im having trouble with converting a 3D .stp to Shape2D view and exporting that as .dxf I saw there was a youtube view so i followed that and it the process works sometimes but other times i just keep getting a error or something and when i open in 2D there is nothing there, or the file wont open in cad.

The below message is what i keep getting. Any help would be appreciated so i understand what im doing wrong here.

Trying to convert this 3D drawing into its 2D views. I got the front view, somehow following the youtube video but cant get any of the other views. like top rear bottom etc. the .stp file is attached. Step file is compressed with winrar.

AFAICT there are defects in the file. Notably missing faces.

you import the Step file into an Fc file, you can manipulate it in all plans

thanks, ok so the problem is the file itself? but i still dont know how to fix this......... this file is not created by me do i need to reach back out to the people who created it? or is there a way i can use what is there already and get the .dxf for each face? im just trying to use it and need to covert it into .dxf to use it. thanks
