I ran a virus scan on my computer with Norton and I also ran MalwareBytes. Nothing was found by either program.
I would try changing my wifi password from a different computer if you can. Nothing to loose.

Laurie, I don't have a wifi router. Only wired connections. I run a Linux box as my firewall using iptables to control access to my network. The red circle with the weapon in it is apparently something unique to FreeCad. I have about a dozen different FreeCad desings I have made over the last couple of months. I have now found out that no matter which design I open, the red circle is there.

Shalmeneser, I designed my 7 segment digit so I can drop LED strips in between the walls of the segments. Your design is just a flat surface with through holes. There is no protection to prevent the LEDs from bleeding over into adjacent segments.

Problem Solved!

I uninstalled v0.20.2. I then used regedit to remove all references to FreeCad in the registry. I found many instances of v0.19 and v0.20. After I removed all references I rebooted the computer. I then reinstalled v0.20.2 and started FreeCad. The red circle is now gone.

I can only speculate but maybe when FreeCad crashed and burned, Windows installed the red circle with weapon in it and it wound up stored in the FreeCad registry cache somewhere. As I said in the first post, when the program crashed it completely froze the computer.

I did search for the circle with weapon inside using g@@g.. but found nothing related to Win10.

Hello happy to ear that problem is solved.

Please modify the title of first post putting [Solved] (with parentheses) in front of title, it is the "correct" way suggested on this forum.

what kind of computer do you have? do you have gaming related software installed? I suspect that gun and red circle is some other software messing with freecad thinking it is a game as nothing like that is implemented in freecad

No, I don't have any gaming software installed on my computer. I have never played a computer game in my life. :)

Virtually all of the software I have installed is stuff related to my interests such as PC board layout software, embedded programming software, Linux tools, Amateur Radio tools, etc.

My computer is one I assembled myself. Intel quad core i5-6600K CPU, 32 Gig of RAM, 3.5 GHz.

I can also imagine something from inside OpenGL, where an unknown command is used. Switching to Software OpenGL could help identifying this.
