Cabinet furniture design tools workbench
Hi, I'm a new one to freecad and 3d modeling at all...
I'm wondering if there are some ready to use tools to design cabinet furniture?

Probably not in the way your thinking, no. Now that is not to say there is anything stopping you from developing some 3D templates and such of your own and reuse them as needed. If your completely new to 3D solid modeling in general and FreeCAD, then I would suggest first learning some basics before trying to jump right in and model a chest of drawers with dovetail joints and roman ogee trim. FreeCAD is not an overly hard program to use, but it does require a bit of effort to learn the basics. None of us here learned how to use FreeCAD overnight. (well, maybe normandc( ), but that's another story)
A good place to start would be with some YouTube video tutorials. You can start with a set that one of our noted contributes bejant has put together - FreeCAD Tutorials In Viewing Order and from there a quick search of youtube for FreeCAD Tutorials will turn up a lot of results. There is also the tutorial section in the FreeCAD Wiki - Tutorials
Once you get a grasp of the basics, you'll come to realize that the answer to your question will end up being that FreeCAD is full of tools ready to use to model cabinet furniture and darn near most anything else you can imagine.

For the record I didn't.
Actually, I learned along the way, none of the Sketcher and Part Design stuff even existed in FreeCAD when I started using it 4 years ago. So I had plenty of time to get used to the tools as they were added.

The first time I ever tried FreeCAD was on an early Ubuntu Linux many years ago....From memory all it had was about 5 standard Part WB parametric solids (Box, Cylinder, etc.) and all it could do in the GUI was CSG with those solids via Boolean operations. I still was able to designed something simple.

Maybe you need a special feature, go into Macros_recipes and Code_snippets, Topological_data_scripting.

Hi,
I have found there is a lot of support for Google's sketchup in the woodworking/ cabinet making fraternity.
There are a large number of design in sketchup available on the web.
I have tried it using a tutorial and found it quite easy to use.
Cheers
Andy

Re: A cabinet furneture disign tools
Since we have expressions a furneture workbench should not be too hard to program.
FreeCAD is my planning tool for wood projects and some more comfort is welcome.
I will rethink these two examples as a first step

Nice. With the latest additions from Yorik for the WikiHouse, a furniture workbench it is more closer than ever. I'm also eager to do some furniture design/manufacturing using FreeCAD.microelly2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2015 8:08 am Since we have expressions a furneture workbench should not be too hard to program.

Meanwhile a lot of good methods are added to FreeCAD: Expression, Spreadsheet and some more Python supported classes.zohozer wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2017 5:34 pmNice. So it should not be too complex to connect the parts to get a common furniture.
