I mean: ASSIGN key is mostly greyed out/inactive, it takes some magical manipulations with typing a KEY then CLEAR again and again, sometimes ASSIGN activates. Then: often happens, after CUSTOMIZE->CLOSE, they keys are being forgotten or partly forgotten, its hard to describe it precisely
because behaviour of the module seems unpredictable.

maybe I do sth wrong with?

Yorik, maybe you have some customized shortcuts file for ARCH so I could check it on some external data?
Is shortcut def.file possible at all /import/export/ ?

It's possible to import and export custom keyboard shortcuts: Tools -> Edit Parameters -> BaseApp -> Preferences -> Right-click on "Shortcut"

About your first question, I'm not sure I fully understand, but be aware that keyboard shortcuts can have up to 4 letters. So you might need to delete and begin again if you typed something wrong.
