Thanks for the link abdullah. basically all these systems are the same. they started with leather shoes way back and have transformed into something a bit more modern.

I wanted to share this link of a recent Russian patent which discusses several methods used in the prior art and advantages/disadvantages:

thanks NormandC. I believe that is the one I was thinking of. I know there are several others out there now. These projects mostly draw the ire or professionals in my field. my reply to those who get angry is....why didn't you do this then? this tech is available to everyone. technically you need to be licensed to actually fit these devices in most of the US states, but I am not sure that holds if you give them away, and/or nobody really wants to go after them thankfully.

You're probably thinking of the e-NABLE project. http://enablingthefuture.org/

I think they are still active. For a time I was in the G+ group which now seems dormant. They mostly focused their design work on Autodesk Fusion I believe.

Good luck with your project!

Great idea and initiative!

There are more activities to support healthcare with low-cost devices.
Some time ago Tarek Loubani https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarek_Loubani initiated the development of a low-cost stethoscope using 3d printers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stethoscope#3D-printed. The price is approx. 3 USD
The result had been tested and proven to be as good as the state of the art http://journals.plos.org/plosone/articl ... ne.0193087
The resources for the stethoscope are available on github https://github.com/GliaX/Stethoscope

Tourek Loubani was presenting on the 32ccc (Chaos Computer Camp 2015) this project and further ideas https://app.media.ccc.de/v/camp2015-670 ... l_hardware

Maybe it is worth to move this thread to another subforum to bring more attention to this topic and share the idea with a wider audience.

Damn! That guy finds himself in the hot of things. I remember reading about his appalling experience this spring in the news. (See his wikipedia page) Didn't know about his 3D printed stethoscope!

There's also this http://www.po.com.py/. Not sure if it is of any help but seemed like a good place to bring some attention to them, they mostly make 3d printed hands but they've also done at least one 3d printed foot that I know of.

HI Guys
I watch this so late. I don't know if anyone need any assistance for this now. Next time if someone needs designing services for causes like this just send me details. You can email me or pm me so I get it to know ASAP.

Is this still a Live project?
Has it moved somewhere else?
Is any help still required?
I am interested in donating many hours per week if this is still going.
Please add a reply to this Topic if it requires any help.
