paid job for an easy task

Post by wildthinx »

Hello,
I created a simple 3D form with Sketchup and want to print it out with my 3D printer. Therefore I have to import the stl file into chitubox, which I use. Chituboy has problems to read the file properly because of understanding solid. So my idea was to use freeCAD to solve this task.

The little job I am talking about is either to use my stl file from sketchup and change it or to draw the form completely new with freeCAD. I made some screenshots and attached them. Please see the link below. The form is hollow.

I would be happy to get some offers. Please pm me.

How about a community solution? We model it here and you donate to FreeCAD? What is it worth to you?

I am quite new to this. So I have no clue about how long it takes to draw this and about the prices. It took me about 10 min to draw with Sketchup. If you could help me I would be happy.

Upload what you have. Can Sketchup export Step format? Then upload that too

The Schnitt.skp isn't a solid so that needs remodeling.
I ran your stl true 3d builder and it fixed some issues. It is attached.

It's done, please check if the dimensions are correct.

I have doubts about these non round dimensions, I can also correct the model if you can give a picture of a sketch that defines this geometry

About the payment, I don't know how much would normally be charged for this, 10$? 20$? more? I would like some advice from people with more knowledge about this. How much are you willing to pay? In any case, the amount should be donated to freecad: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Donate , I will send you the model after you publish some type of proof of the donation, are you okay with the model being published here or do you want it via PM/email?

Wow, that makes me happy to see. Thank you!

First of all: Mister Maker: "Schnitt.skp" was just an example to show that the object is hollow. It was just a cut through.
Adrianinsaval. So great, thank you again. Now I am a bit confused. Who of you did the job?

You can send the file public. I will donate 20 USD today to the official donation.

But I would also like to understand, what happend. Actually in Sketchup I gave it all a "solid". And I tried it several times. What can I change in the future? I mean, it is a bad question to ask for in a freeCAD forum. You will write: Use freeCAD. :-) But I work with Sketchup for such a long time I would like to proceed.

I did nothing :)
You can even do it, 3D builder is installed on most windows 10 computers!
Just open it klik on the repair warning and save it again!
