Paid reverse-engineering gig, 3D scanner required

Post by esr »

I'm a fan of vintage Model M buckling-spring keyboards. I've been learning FreeCAD in order to design a custom drilling jig for a restoration procedure often done on them called a "bolt mod".

I'd like to have a parametric CAD model of a Model M case good enough to 3d-print or injection-mold a replica (the design has not been manufactured in over 20 years and IP protection has lapsed). I'm looking for a FreeCAD user with access to a 3-D scanner that can make a good mesh capture from the part, then reverse-engineer it into a FreeCAD model.

Some money can be raised to pay for the reverse-engineer's time and the use of the scanner. Hourly rate or lump sum is negotiable. Please negotiate with a kind heart, as my intention is that the result will be open-sourced for the benefit of Model M fans everywhere.
