LOL. I said exactly that *YEARS* ago. Nothing came of it.
In CATIA, Solidworks and Inventor, it's called a
shell command or feature. This would obviously induce confusion as a shell is already an existing shape.
In Solid Edge, it's called "thick shell". Not a bad one IMHO as it refers to
thickness.
And in CATIA,
Thickness seems to refer to adding
thickness to a surface or existing solid (
see screenshot). It's more logical than FreeCAD's current use for
thickness.
