Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

A new variant (this one works better as an icon), and retains all of the already described features:
pablogil wrote: Wed May 27, 2020 8:13 am
  • a design that is somehow an evolution of the actual design so that it is more of a modernization than a brand new logo
  • used technical drawing for defining the shapes (easy to reproduce even drawing it inside FreeCAD)
  • the actual blue gear evolves to an open "gear" or C that recalls the "open source" logo and helps to easily read FC
  • colors tweaked to just 175 value on their correspondent channel:
    • F (red) = RGB(175,0,0)
    • C (blue) = RGB(0,0,175)
  • and a reminiscence of a modern airplane, rocket or similar that makes the logo (and FreeCAD itself) to embrace the idea of being a powerful and fast software
Here it is:

The spacing and gradient can still be "geometrically described" ;)

Cheers

Looks interesting, thank you very much. To be honest, I don't agree with your statement regarding the quoted requirements.
[...] helps to easily read FC [...]
I'm not able to read FC. Is it just me?

Hahaha, OK, may be it's not literally "easy to read FC"... but we can say "F" and "C" are there...

If you are strict, look at the actual logo and you will read "F" and "O"... :P

Here they are.
I have done small adjustments to colors, now they fit the "old" colors:

In the .zip file I have included:
  • .svg (vector file)
  • .png (1024x1024px)
  • .ico (Windows, untested)
  • .icns (macOS)
