Re: FreeCAD Logo Design
I made a flat logo as the existing one doesn't look very old looking and not nice on screen.

I am sorry for the late upload. I have just been busy for the last couple of weeks and this slipped my mind.

Re: FreeCAD Logo Design
Hi,
I don't know how but my last (and best) proposal is not the one that is inside your Figma file, it also has the "C" shifted, breaking the "equilibrium":
Please, try to fix it with the attached SVG file, thanks.
Just to be clear again, my beloved proposal would the following:
- a design that is somehow an evolution of the actual design so that it is more of a modernization than a brand new logo
- used technical drawing for defining the shapes (easy to reproduce even drawing it inside FreeCAD)
- the actual blue gear evolves to an open "gear" or C that recalls the "open source" logo and helps to easily read FC
- using the same colors than the original design
- it works great at any size, from a 16px icon to as big as you want
- monochrome version keeps its integrity, it is unequivocally recognized
- and a reminiscence of a modern airplane, rocket or similar that makes the logo (and FreeCAD itself) to embrace the idea of being a powerful and fast software
Original / Proposal / blueprint proposal
Thanks again
Cheers

Re: FreeCAD Logo Design
I like your line of thinking, but this logo to me reads much more as "EC" than "FC". And I also think this is not a modernization of the logo, much rather a brand new logo.pablogil wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 10:08 pmHi,

Es sollte wie bisher sein, jeder der mit CAD zu tun hat weiß, was das ist. Der Würfel hat keine Aussage.

Hi,
I am Nicolas, a young designer. I am new to the forum.
I see that there are already a lot of proposals but I wanted to participate
Here is a first little research
An F and a C / D intertwined
I used Roboto for the typography. I like to use existing typography to create a logo. This makes it easy to develop a coherent graphic charter.
The logo can also work without the text.
