Feature Request (or bug?) : Toolbar with title
Hello,
when a toolbar is not docked, I think it would be clearer if the toolbar have a title (with a close button), like this:
What do you think about?
EDIT : Rename Subject, cause of Yorik reply

Re: Feature Request : Toolbar with title
I am not convinced. I see that many users here install FreeCAD on a laptop. There it is important to save as much space as possible for the 3D view where actually the modellling takes place.

Re: Feature Request : Toolbar with title
It is the case already for me. I guess it depends on your desktop config...

No, it's the same on Ubuntu based on Unity or GNOME 3. In fact, it's been like this as far as I can remember, I thought this was normal.
Yorik, what's your current desktop environment? I thought you were using GNOME 3 too?

Re: Feature Request (or bug?) : Toolbar with title
Unfortunately there is no standard way to achieve this in Qt ATM. If there would be i guess i could add such option to:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 10#p212848
P.S. I read some discussions and some partially working workarounds were mentioned. But that only worked by chance and it stop working in Qt5.

Re: Feature Request (or bug?) : Toolbar with title
Thanks Triplus,
I didn't know this add-on, I will test it.

Re: Feature Request (or bug?) : Toolbar with title
Yes, I was looking for toolbar names myself when I started using FreeCAD (link is below). But now that I've learned a bit more, if toolbar names were to be shown in the toolbar, I'd like a way to turn the names off in order to save a bit of vertical display space (which is at a premium on my screens).
For me it's been without title bar names ever since I joined the forum back in 2013 (using Windows XP) and I wondered about that myself back then:
