Re: COIL iconTheme
Such a subtile design update!
There is something to learn about subtle matter)
- Now I switch between Dark and Light theme ...
- Wow, wow, take it easy, make this magic with no hidden sudden movements!

Re: COIL iconTheme
Indeed looks like a very trivial change, but there is really a different feel to it..
Now I want a blueish dark theme like that for my desktop

Re: COIL iconTheme
They already made dark darker and light lighter. Maybe they also read this thread?
Blue dark is darker, than monochrome one, so this change is a nice solution for drafting, because of higher contrast,
but not good, for example, for typhography fullcolor printing setup, as far as it influences colors.
I still in doubt about COIL possibilities, it is an extremely experimental concept,
but we will get a greater degree of freedom to explore after its release.
Re: COIL iconTheme
I took a quick look and AutoCAD 2020 icons on Light background still don't look as good as they could? As for dark background. I guess they just used a rather low effort solution to address this, by changing a background color of the application itself with a stylesheet.
In FOSS world, likely related to the fact FOSS supported multicolor from the get-go, icon designers are a bit more experienced:

Thank you very much 1D_Inc. I really appreciate your work with FreeCAD and Blender.
Still I don't understand how I can use this icon sets on FreeCAD for Windows? I downloaded the latest FreeCAD 0.18 from Github but I can't find any option to change the icons? I do need a special build or something similar?

It is just research at the moment. We didn't made icon set release yet, and there are some design problems.zohozer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 2:26 pm Thank you very much 1D_Inc. I really appreciate your work with FreeCAD and Blender.

Re: COIL iconTheme
I think the design of your icon theme is just incredible. Very professional, clean, consistent. I like it.
But how is it supposed to be installed? I activated the IconThemes add-on in FreeCAD, and downloaded the Coil icon theme. And now?

Re: COIL iconTheme
Thank you.
I placed svg icons in C:\Users\1D_Inc\AppData\Roaming\FreeCAD\Gui\Icons\COIL\
and it worked as COIL preset.
I also have X2, X3 and other folders there (it also took for me some time to figure out this scheme, but everything worked)
