Add Line Styles to TechDraw

Postby HelloWorldXD » Fri Jul 16, 2021 8:18 am

Hello,

i have read the Post "Re: TechDraw without limits = Layout autocad" witch is a great way to create 2D Technical Drawings with all things you need. Even GD&T Symbols are Possible :).
The only thing that i miss is to adjust the line style in special the line scale.
What i mean with that is the spacing between dash dot lines for example in most cases the are to narrow. In Solid Edge you can adjust the line style scale by a factor.

Mabye i only missed the feature somewhere and anybody can help me.

thanks

As far a I know the linestyles are fixed in svg-files, see https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob ... t-line.svg. I think there is no possibility to change it's scale.

If I understand correctly, line style is partially defined in this file:
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob ... eGroup.csv

in part :
;Format of this file: *GroupName,thin,graphic,thick,extra

*FC 0.25mm,0.13,0.18,0.25,0.50
*FC 0.35mm,0.18,0.25,0.35,0.70
*FC 0.50mm,0.25,0.35,0.50,1.0
*FC 0.70mm,0.35,0.50,0.70,1.4
*FC 1.00mm,0.50,0.70,1.00,2.00
*FC 1.40mm,0.70,1.00,1.40,2.80
*FC 2.00mm,1.00,1.40,2.00,4.00
But I do not know the details, and what exactly can be changed in this file.
It seems that you can only change the thickness there, but you can't change the dot-dash distance.

You can select the desired style group in the TechDarw settings, depending on the size of the drawing sheet.

Hello,

Is it possible to change the svg files without much programming?
To create different linestyles with for example inkscape would not to much work but how can i implement this new styles.
Is it possible to add new svg files? :?:

I am sorry, my input was a mistake. The icons are only used in the dialog window of the Create Center Line command in the button used to change the line style.

Did you have a look at the wiki? It's in the very first tutorial! Basic_TechDraw_Tutorial

Hello

thanks for the input M4x but in this tutorial there is nothing about the line scale. i dont mean the thicknes of the line or the scale of the model i mean the spacing between dot line linestyles.

Ah, than I've misunderstood you, sorry! :?

I'm not at a computer right now but I think such a setting didn't exist. Did you check the settings and the TD wiki stuff?

Hello

so what i need i think is a setting like the CenterMarkScale but for the CenterLine

The problem i noticed is when i go down with the thicknes of the line also the scale (spacing and length of the lines) go down and that is the problem.
So maybe somebody could please tell me how i can adjust that or how i can add new line styles. I dont get it how i can add new line styles to the cvv style i think this only contains the main info what line is used but the styles it self must be defined in another spot.

thanks
