My criteria for backports are simple:
- can data be destroyed (includes security holes)? no
- does FreeCAD crash? no
- is there a workaround? yes: create a new view with the right orientation and place it in the right position.

This would result in a clear "no backport needed". Who would ever use 0.19 if all improvements are backported?

It is a bug and seems to be a quite simple commit (but still great work).
-> please backport :-)

I need a 32bit Windows version with this bug fix applied.

Any plans for 0.19?

Thank you very much in advance!

I have no idea how to work around this bug.

The DetailView can't be rotated (Rotation and Direction properties have no function and will be disabled by the fix).

Making a new projection with a larger scale might be a solution on the first sight, but how to crop it to the needed size?
There are no size or radius properties to do this.

Just thinking about the following:
Cut off a part of the 3D model and make the Right projection instead of a DetailView. Are you having this in mind?

Yes, I/we could work with the pre0.19 besides 64bit only :-( (must have the same version on three computers) is it stable enough for daily use?

Best regards,
Ingo

And I have to admit that that I was thinking about the multiple view when writing that workaround exists, sorry for that.

0.19 is here far better concerning stability than 0.18. Many errors have been fixed, a few things have slightly degraded during the Big Merge of the Link feature but as a whole I would say it is clearly the better version.
