Hi bitacovir, sorry for the delay in replying, a greeting to the “grandiose and effervescent” Community!

Meanwhile, thank you for your appreciation (also on behalf of @edi), we are happy that you use TechDrawTools with satisfaction.
Your suggestions are useful and precious (thanks!) We will see if it will be possible to translate them into code; be aware that a Pull request (https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=60488) has been made by edi for a first integration of some TechDrawTools tools directly into the TechDraw interface, edi intent is to transfer all the tools present in TechDrawTools, possibly also integrating new ones. :D
A greeting

Hi M4x, greetings to the community!
... after a long and patient wait, unfortunately without feedback (perhaps because 2D or the auxiliary constructions are not considered interesting?), The time has come for the publication of the method to obtain the symbol of a thread, of a predetermined length (in this case 33.75 mm but can be any other), of a pin (shaft, screw, stud, etc.) positioned obliquely.
All the workflow is done in TechDraw with the help of TechDrawTools V-0.4.4-multilanguage, as documented by the attached * .gif.

Any chance we can get "thread-drawing" automated?
Perhaps by reading/getting the parameters from "the magic 3D thread maker"?

That is, us users create the thread once in 3D, then you guys read the parameters and create the 2D thread automagically.

Some day perhaps?

The problem, as I see it:

The first step must be the creation of a "thread-object" in Part Design, Part etc.

In a second step TechDraw can read this "thread-object" and create the symbolic lines.

The request is vocalized easy, but realizing is, if possible, complicated. The main problem IMO is, that in FreeCAD each workbench is an own world, having very little connection to the other workbenches. The cardinal 3D exchange of data between workbenches is the shape of the created object.

The "this is a thread" information exists in PartDesign_Hole

Problem with hole feature, in general, is that if you use any of, linear or polar patterns or mirror, geometry representation of copies looses all properties of original hole.

Some time ago I tried to make script to extract dimensions, type and direction of hole feature to use it for drilling pattern generation but it worked only for . first (original) hole.

Interesting. Maybe that can be changed?
