How to link dimension to 3D Geometry

Post by qfeng »

I met the problem on using the link dimension to 3D Geometry.
After I added the dimension to 3D Geometry, the length of the dimension was changed to 0.00.
On the report view window, it shows

Code: Select all

Measurement::length - measureType is Invalid
The version of the freecad is 0.19. My operation was like this,
1, select a edge,
2, click insert length dimension
3, select the same edge,
4, click link dimension to 3D geometry
5, in the task window, select and double click the dimension, click OK
6, double click the dimension to update it.

Is there any wrong on the operation? Could anybody tell me how to do it correctly?

Best regards,

Hi qfeng, greetings to the community!
... here's how it's done, you can also apply it to the dimensions of the classic views not only to the 3D ones.

Hi Doman,
Thank you very much for your instruction.
It works. My mistake was do the link command on the techdraw window instead of the 3D object.
