Why does Flowie's model have no lines but mine does?

Why does Flowie's model have no lines but mine does?

Flowie's shape has no lines on it:

as I am following, mine has lines on it.

Have an idea why that is?

could it have to do with custom settings?

He probably uses the automatic refine. I don't recommend this, because it means you give up some control, and there are models which fail. It is sufficient to set Refine=true when you need it - or, if you so wish, in the final step.
