My weapons of choice for making videos are:
- key-mon - show keys/clicks on screen - https://code.google.com/archive/p/key-mon/
- OpenShot - already mentioned
- CutShot - https://www.shotcut.org/
- Cinelerra - https://cinelerra.org/
and the most important (gnome users only?): ctrl+shift+alt+R - record desktop

There is also a gnome extension EasyScreenCast to record desktop with some customised settings:

I just started using OpenSCAD and FreeCAD. I was able to create a model of an instrument support panel for my open source cockpit hardware project in a couple of days with OpenSCAD. I'd like to now repeat that in FreeCAD using both CSG and parametric modelling approaches.

Since I'll be new to FreeCAD, its a perfect opportunity to create a tutorial about starting to use FreeCAD after using other modelling projects.

Wiki Questions:

Where do people put incomplete tutorials on the wiki?
How are Work In Progress wiki pages handled?

You place them in the wiki and mark them as a work progress. You can use a template such as {{Work in progress}}, or just add a sentence that says "work in progress". There's no special handling of pages like this; the wiki is by its nature a work in progress at all times because it is subject to change by all editors.

My suggestion is to look at the style of other tutorials and try to get the same type of workflow. For example, Tutorial_for_open_windows, Draft_tutorial, Basic_Sketcher_Tutorial. In a tutorial, step by step instructions supported by images is very helpful, but you want to find a balance; making an image of every single step is going to be excessive. You need to find the right amount of textual instructions, images that shows the partial results, and eventually the final result.

You should open your own thread instead of posting here, because this thread is more about tips for creating tutorials, and doesn't focus on a particular topic.
