It is now available in pdf and video format on my page website

Hi,
I added a page on my site "Go further with Asm3 WB":

http://help-freecad-jpg87.fr/025c_ass_ex_creat.php

The example (with videos) implements the advice of the Realthunder wiki, and a small design test in the assembly.

Still on the page

I added an example using DynamicData. I find this addon more practical than spreadsheets.
What do you think ?

Thank you for doing this, I found this tutorial very useful in conjunction with reading Realthunder's tutorial on Github - here.

I'm interested to know how you get your videocast to pause, it's very useful 8-)

It is always a pleasure to be of use to FreeCAD users.

I have been using Camtasia Studio software produced by TechSmith for a very long time (not free! At the time I couldn't find anything else). He created me videos in swf format. This format allowed the video to be automatically paused for each annotation. For security reasons, this format is no longer read in browsers.
For a few months, an update opportunity has allowed me for a small cost to find again this possibility of automatic pause.

Besides, thanks to you, I have just noticed that I have a lot of my videos to use to add this function.

Hello,
I added pages on my site:
http://help-freecad-jpg87.fr/0260_ass_ex_creat.php (English)

http://help-freecad-jpg87.fr/00fr/0260_ass_ex_creat.php (French)

I tried to make the workflow more rigorous and put more explanation into the videos.
The files are provided on the site in a simplified format (simple copies of Part WB) to reduce the workload.

The version of FreeCAD Assembly 3 used is that of the Realthunder branch:

OS: Windows 10 (10.0)
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 2020.11.16.22739 +2766 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: LinkStage3
Hash: 6730ad3b3bd841c2745ec98bf953c523dea86913
Python version: 3.6.8
Qt version: 5.12.1
Coin version: 4.0.0a
OCC version: 7.3.0
Locale: French/France (fr_FR)

Hello,
These tutorials that you offer us are great. You are doing a great job that is helping me a lot to understand assembly3. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

Yesterday I started with the tutorial "Methodology for creating assemblies - EC Base" and my head almost exploded. Too many elements linked to elements linked to linked asm to linked asm .... I think it takes a lot of experience or a privileged brain to master this.
Although today things are better :D

I got stuck because I got the error of "inconsistent constraints" when trying to mount the stator on the supportmast:
error.png
error.png (219.97 KiB) Viewed 6257 times

I was finally able to solve it by going back and not creating redundant constraints, using PointInPlane instead of SameOrientation. It seems that in my case the solver does not handle redundant constraints well.

Regards and thanks again!!!

Hello,
thank you for your kind comments.
I do think that we have to practice a bit to gain experience.

HK sxx wrote: Thu Nov 26, 2020 8:16 pm I got stuck because I got the error of "inconsistent constraints" when trying to mount the stator on the supportmast:
Often, to unblock the situation, it suffices to deactivate the constraint which poses the problem, to bring the component responsible for the position to be obtained, then by reactivating the constraint everything is back to normal. But you obviously have to react to the 1st error message.

Important :
This morning, I made some adjustments, and I especially added an important remark concerning the Attachment constraint which is specific to Assembly 3 and which is not yet sufficiently part of my reflexes !
