Asm3 – constraints and « natural » links

Post by jpg87 »

Hi everybody,

Here is a review of the tests I have done on the construction of common links in mechanical engineering with Asm3.

In English : see last message for the updated version.

In French : voir dernier message pour la version mise à jour.

Good use,

Thanks again to realthunder https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_ ... 3/releases
As a draftsman in mechanical engineering, I found everything I needed with Asm3.
My dream for the future: mathematical relationships between angular positions (gears) or linear angle-displacement (threads).

This review is very precious to help everybody to assess the state of assembly3 (a very good state IMHO :) ), thanks a lot to both you and @realthunder!

You may find this enlightening, if you have not seen it already.

The beauty of the rendered images in Blender are beyond comparison but also what they produce can be output to a splicer for 3D printing. I'm hoping to use some of that for CNC but most of those gears will need 4th axis to make both pinions.

Is that PDF available local on the FreeCAD site somewhere. In English. [Solved} I will check out your site.

Thanks for testing, I want to spend some time reviewing all that.
