While ordering some stuff from Mcmaster.com today, I remembered that they have technical drawings for everything they have which is great if you want to sit there and dimension out some stuff... but they also have 3d formats like .step you can save open in FreeCAD, choose a bolt or nut in the thread pitch you want, put it where you need threads, cut/copy out the section you need and duplicate it if you need longer and merge items and use cut feature. Is there an easier way than that for us newBs?
