The new DesignSPhysics-GUI is awesome !

create the case in 3D
define movement of one or more bodies
define physical and solver parameters (tons of options)
press „Change 3D/2D“ button ==> 2D case is generated, speeds up simulation

postprocessing
export fluid and body motion as vtk-series for paraview
generate csv-files for plotting forces and motion (x,y,z,pitch, roll, yaw) in excel
measure pressure at every point you want
a.s.o...all in one GUI

Thumbs up to the developer, great job!

and some more info...
Define body-motion + 7 additional wave-generators
Constant and execution settings
Runtime solver log
Define floating state of objects.
pretty complicated stuff...

158x27x16 m „containership“ with engine failure in heavy sea drifting to
the coast. The peak level of the blue force-plot (horizontal force on ship)
is the moment, when the breaker slams at the hull. Peak-level 617 kN
per m hull lenght. After running the simulation, you can generate a csv-file
of the forces/motion. The csv was imported into Smath-studio to do a frequency
analysis with FFT. The red plane in the model is the wave-generator,
the red slice is the 2D computing domain. Complete simulation was 60 sec
with 0,2 sec timestep. Number of points approx 11000 (rough...).
Runtime on quadcore-cpu Intel celeron 2 hours. I need this machine...

Nice tutorial about sph-method:

The dualsphysics-manual is for people who are familiar with sph.

Refresh this thread:
There is a Dualphysics macro.
Any interest?

Can anyone point me to a step by step tutorial on how to setup a problem and run it ?

Thanks
