This happens when "Use value from boundary" is chosen in the "InitialiseFields" object, but a valid boundary has not (yet) been selected. Simply double-clicking the "InitialiseFields" object should automatically choose the first suitable boundary ("inlet" in this case); click OK and all should be well. The run then fails since this is an inviscid analysis with prescribed pressure drop - changing to viscous will fix that.

It looks like MPI is not installed. If you are on Windows, try reinstalling OpenFOAM and make sure you answer 'yes' to installing MSMPI if asked. Running the installer as Administrator might help. If you don't get any joy with the OpenFOAM Windows installer, you could try BlueCFD instead.
Please provide all the information requested in this post before reporting problems with CfdOF.

Sorry again Oliver,

I reinstalled with no solution and then uninstalled and reinstalled blueCFD and OpenFOAM. During reinststall I was told that MPI was not installed and now get a differnt failure respoinse from the model. I started with blueCFD-Core-2020-1-win64-setup and then tried blueCFD-Core-2017-2-win64-setup. No difference.

Regards

1. Uninstall bluecfd
2. Goto "Apps and Features", check for remaining mpi. If so, uninstall via "Apps and Features"
3. Reboot system
4. Install bluecfd, newest version https://bluecfd.github.io/Core/Downloads/

Works for me.

Hi thschrader,

No, I get the same "simulation exit with error" but with no "./Allrun: line 9: mpiexec: command not found"
