NEMOH

Hi
I'm new to this forum. Just exploring how FreeCAD could be used for generating meshes for NEMOH BEM code. It needs quadrilateral panels and I can't see how to generate these in the meshing workbench. Maybe not possible, but would appreciate some comments. Thanks

No, I dont think you can use the meshers from Freecad cfd-workbench (gmsh, snappyhexmesh, cfmesh)
to generate a (2D?) BEM-mesh the easy way. Openfoam uses a so called "polymesh", please see

Thanks Thomas. Yes, you need MATLAB or Octave to run NEMOH. As a BEM code it only needs the boundary surface. I guess most meshing tools assume 3D elements. I think I came across some discussions (can't find it now) about using gmsh to create quad meshes. Anyone got any experience of this? Thanks, Jonathan
