Heat transfer simulation with cfdOF

Post by julieng »

Hello,

Is there a future heat transfer solver in cfdof? I mean a possibility to calculate heat transfer coefficient between liquid and solid.
I think Openfoam can handle this very well.

Elmer solver of FEM FreeCAD can do that but it is very limited for 3D turbulent fluid cases.

Best regards

It can be done and it is part of planned developments

Planned:
Conjugate heat transfer

Thank you for your answer,
It is planned to add solid parts for heat exchange also ?
If yes good news. What is an approximative time schedule ?6 months 1year or more?

I have a second question. Is it possible to add post process functionnalities to compute the flow rate, etc ?
It seems tricky to calculate it in paraview

Best regards
