Hello guys,
I am a new FreeCAD user, and I've been playing around with the FEM workbench. I'm now looking at the CFD workbenches, but I know that CFD simulations can get very complex and very long to process.
I was wondering if you generally face these limitations and how you cope with it.
Many thanks,
Alexis

Re: Performance limitations
In my opinion it is the same process like in FEM:
- unrefine your model as much as possible, concentrate on the specific problem you want to check
- is it a "symmetrical" problem? ==> use 1/2 or 1/4 body
- can you reduce the problem from 3D to 2D ? (speeds up sim very well)
- laminar case possible instead of turbulence? ==> low Re-number?
- steady-state sim instead of transient?
...
An example would be nice.
Greetings Thomas
