Exciting times! Just a heads up that the BlenderBIM add-on can now export some (not all) structural data to an IFC, and that IFC can be converted into input into Code_Aster for simulation:

https://github.com/IfcOpenShell/IfcOpenShell/issues/756

Already, once FreeCAD gains these abilities, we can share the IFC2CA script. I am sure there are more synergies in the future... :)
I also blog about 3D rendering, architecture, software and other on thinkMoult.com. RSS / Atom feed available for your convenience.

Thanks for the update!

Whilst testing FreeCAD workflow to model some Architecture masterpiece, on Villa Savoye recently (@Bitacovir on Farnsworth's House), always wondering if anyone on Structural / MEP disciplines is interested to model the corresponding structural / MEP design simulating a real-life consulting team collaboration - maybe working on a BIMserver. Or some hypothetical model like super-highrise building, space station? etc.

Hope to see how FC and blender works on real-life (commercial/profit or not, competition) project and their presents in these presentation - 'Design on FreeCAD / Blender ' ... :)
