FreeCAD.exe has stopped working

Hi -
I'm an occasional user, where I've have last used version 0.16, but for a new project decided to upgrade to version 0.17 (details below). However the code is sporadically closing on me (see attachment). This doesn't happen with any consistency, nor not in any one module (primarily using sketcher, part design, but playing around with some others). I've only been experimenting/learning on some simple structures, and it doesn't take long before the failure occurs.

I'm wondering if my computer has adequate capability. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 with 2.75 GB of useable memory.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
