I made now a PR using version 0.9 of the new installer:
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/2054
Over 1K downloads for x64 and over 200 for x32 using v8 of your installer (RC4 on the releases page). Not a single complaint :) I will use v9 and remove the RC unless someone has an issue?

Good news, many thanks.

As soon as the installer PR is in FreeCAD, I will ask in the forum for more translations of the installer.

This was fun, someone with time, skills, and interest (uwestoehr), rolled up their sleeves and contributed to the project in a very transparent way :)
Very FreeCADish, please make sure your read.me instructions somehow make it into the pull request.

During Werner's review of the installer to merge my PR he encountered a license page issue: The GPL is not a license agreement.
Therefore I adapted the license installer page as best as possible accordingly and created a new release 0.10:

https://github.com/donovaly/FreeCADInst ... s/tag/0.10

I also followed Werner's advices for a better Readme file:

I used v9 to create the official (no RC) 0.18.0 installer. https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/0.18
At the moment, I'm inclined to wait for the merge to master to create the 0.18.1 installer. https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/0.18.1

Thanks again for your attention to all the details :)

BTW: I cleaned the crunge from my registry and file associations work perfect.

A user appears to have an issue, installed 0.18 then uninstalled it and installed 0.18.1

https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... ead#unread

something seems to be pointing to 0.017 which he claims he has never had installed.

Thanks for the info. I replied in the mentioned thread since the cause is not the installer itself but a custom file association setting made by the reporter.
