Topic hijacked, I'm no longer interested in trying to maintain it
This topic was meant to be a general announcement for newcomers trying to know what version of FreeCAD to download.
Maintaining it has been a struggle. The major issue is the lack of discipline of forum regulars, who persist in starting discussions that have no relevance for newcomers as if this was a "regular" topic. The result is a general announcement topic that is 4 pages long with much diluted pertinent and useful info for users of *all* platforms.
I had already asked once to get the topic cleaned up before. Rather than having to ask once again which annoys me to no end, I choose to shut it down instead.
From now on, I will leave moderators to answer to newcomers' questions about what FreeCAD version to download and where.

Off course not you are at 0.18. if you had pressed the 0.18.1 link than you should go through https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/0.18.1 and find some downloadable files...
Re: Status of FreeCAD 0.18 Release
As stated here, these installers are named with the wrong hash. I was waiting for a reply before putting the links here.
Also, why was the 0.18 installer deleted from the 0.18 tag?
Edit: I updated the first post with the current links anyway.
Re: Status of FreeCAD 0.18 Release
I was having a real issue with versions 0.16, 0.17, and 0.18 with importing a SVG image as a geometry. I'm happy to report that the problem is solved in release 0.18.1

I am working on the portable versions.Tamirov.ru wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 10:32 pm Will there be a portable version "...WIN-x64-portable.7z" ?
A note however. Beginning with 0.18.x the Win installer allows installation for a single user that does not require admin rights.
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/0.18.1
The installer also allows to make a desktop shortcut and registers the file association. So it writes some more stuff to the registry. The uninstaller works very well to remove anything that the installer writes.

macOS
A 18.1 binary has been created, please test and report issues. Direct download link: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... stable.dmg
the link ends in a 404 github page "page not found" (I just tried now)
