I downloaded and extracted FreeCAD_0.19.18516_x64_Conda_Py3QT5-WinVS2015.7z this morning in order to try something with Python 3.7 but unfortunately FreeCAD crashed during the load sequence. Below is the last part of the log and attached is the Debug.log file generated if it is of use:

Should be fixed now.

Sorry, but with the FreeCAD_0.19.18522_x64_Conda_Py3QT5-WinVS2015.7z download, it looks to be the same:

Let me know if there's any other info you need.

Your info is great.
I got rid of the hard coded paths in qt.conf and added the resorses directory.
Can you try again? Can you post the log even if it succeeds?

No success I'm afraid:

Just downloaded: FreeCAD_0.19.18533_x64_Conda_Py3QT5-WinVS2015.7z

fixed qt.conf to

Code: Select all

[Paths]
TargetSpec = win32-msvc
HostSpec = win32-msvc
Prefix = ..
Headers = include/qt

launching FreeCAD.exe by this shortcut

Screenshot 001.png
Screenshot 001.png (24.15 KiB) Viewed 393 times

works fine.

@UR_, thanks for the workaround, I can confirm it worked so at least I can do my testing.

@sgrogan, if I just amend qt.conf to @UR_'s suggestion but keep the file structure as I prefer in E:\Data\My Downloads, I get the following at the end of the log:

Code: Select all

Resulting in a GUI being displayed, preferences such as Stylesheet are correct but others such as the Start Wb aren't open as expected. Hopefully both of our feedback can assist in a fully portable package, thanks for the efforts.

Thanks for the feed back, this helps a lot.
For the qt.conf, I was making similar fixes as @UR_, but then overwriting the fixes with the hardcoded paths :oops:
I think the Headers directory should not be needed as this path is not included in the bundle (it's not needed in the LP_12.1.2 version).

@Syres, is your default WB Part, maybe with a custom toolbar that adds Sketcher?
Can you try making Start the default WB? Maybe it will crash and give some good info in the log.

Nope, the default Wb has been Start for months now which then switches to Sketcher after I've clicked a recent file or Create New.. as per screenshot:

Therefore that log above is with these settings.
