Mesh Design Workbench and Ubuntu 20.04 Stock Packages

Since I know getting the PPA packages to play nice with 20.04 is going to potentially take some time, I tried out the freecad package included in the repositories and it seems to work well enough for me, with one exception: the mesh design workbench doesn't work. Specifically, if I try to run Create Mesh From Shape, only the standard algorithm is available, and when I try to use that I get an empty mesh and the error message "name 'MeshPart' is not defined". Anyone know if there's another package or python library I can install to get it working? My workaround so far has just been doing my modeling using the version in the repo and then using the appimage to export when it's time
