Can't create mesh with standard mesher anymore

I've replaced the two packages with their "-openmpi" suffixed counterparts and it worked (I did a complete rebuild of FreeCAD after switching the packages).

Hi I had the same problem this morning under Ubuntu 16.04
running:

sudo apt install --reinstall freecad

solved the problem for me
