Did you try to install 0.19?

Just download and unzip with 7unzip. You can have it additionally.

Sometimes you cannot install into the Applications, then try a different directory, e.g. your desktop.

The latest git build freezes on launch. When I start from terminal I get this:

Loading Assembly4 WorkBench
So maybe it is some Assembly 4 setting? Can I reset the preferences to see if that fixes it? Or else: can I download the git build before this one again?

Remove the directory ~/Library/Preferences/FreeCAD.

Thanks. But it does not fix it, the preferences didn't seem to be the problem but something with the latest build. There is no way to get the .19pre build before the current one, is there?

Edit: I could recover 22315 git build via timemachine. Phew :)

But maybe there's something going on with the latest build that needs fixing?

You can download 0.19-22358 from here: https://owncloud.gwdg.de/index.php/s/4u ... 9/download.

Edit: It took some time to upload. In the meantime you found your old version. I leave mine anyway because it is slightly newer than yours.
