Re: problem installing 0.20 appimage (solved)
Another day, another version of 0.20 appimage instaled.... and the same problem.
Runs fine and then crashes almost immediately afterwards.
Not always immediately, sometimes stays up long enough to open file, but never lasts very long
Managed to grab version info:
and the error message when tried running from terminal:
Can anybody knowledgeable, please comment as to what is going on? and what can I do to sort this out?

Re: problem installing 0.20 appimage (back again with another release)
This is the message when it crashes while trying to load:
Looks like it is familiar Nvidia card issue, but it is totally puzzling especially since an earlier version I also have (FreeCAD_weekly-builds-26202-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.Appimage) is running perfectly fine
later edit:
(for my record, and when referring to this thread in future)
found this https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=63680
and managed to keep things open long enough to change display settings as advised.
Let's hope this is it???

Final edit (01.01.2022):
changing to "Use Software OpenGL" solved the problem
