Another day, another version of 0.20 appimage instaled.... and the same problem.
Runs fine and then crashes almost immediately afterwards.
Not always immediately, sometimes stays up long enough to open file, but never lasts very long
Managed to grab version info:

Code: Select all

OS: elementary OS 6.1 Jalnir (Pantheon/pantheon)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.26720 (Git) AppImage
Build type: Release
Branch: (HEAD detached at 7bca26e)
Hash: 7bca26e7c14d4d43374ff7e0c8582735b249cbfd
Python version: 3.9.9
Qt version: 5.12.9
Coin version: 4.0.0
OCC version: 7.5.3
Locale: English/United Kingdom (en_GB)
and the error message when tried running from terminal:

Code: Select all

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

This is the message when it crashes while trying to load:

Code: Select all

./FreeCAD_weekly-builds-26720-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.AppImage
FreeCAD 0.20, Libs: 0.20R26720 (Git)

/tmp/.mount_FreeCAYIY0GE/AppRun: line 41: 6296 Segmentation fault ${MAIN} "$@"
Looks like it is familiar Nvidia card issue, but it is totally puzzling especially since an earlier version I also have (FreeCAD_weekly-builds-26202-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.Appimage) is running perfectly fine

later edit:
(for my record, and when referring to this thread in future)
found this https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=63680
and managed to keep things open long enough to change display settings as advised.
Let's hope this is it???
