Black window

I'm getting a black view window. All other functions seem find. I can generate a primitive and see all the information in the navigators but the view window is completely black.
I tried upgrading PIVY but that didn't help.
I'm running FreeCAD 0.9 on Ubuntu 10.04

That means mostly your box have problems with OpenGL (accelerated 3D) or your running X remote.
