Is there any reason why the Win-Conda 0.19 24267 is so big ? 410MB against the Win-LPv2.16 24267 269MB ...
And for some reason, different from several other versions download, this Conda is taking forever to download.
I just clocked my connection as to test-download 440Mbps, the AC Asus router shows 42kbps average speed for this download.
It is downloading for more than 45 minutes and it made only 184/410MB... "several hours left".
I believe the repository server must be crowded.
Update: After a long time, it speed up and finished the remaining 160M in less than a 5 seconds. Weird, nothing else was running on my network.
Conda 24267 is way to big
Re: Conda 24267 is way to big
The big version probably contains the full documentation.

I think it also contains a lot of non-core stuff like add-ons and the RealThunder branch.

The addons should be removed from the stable versions, at least that's what looo said in a discussion some time ago.

Ha, that's minimalistic, the Linux AppImage is more than 800Mb !

Yeah you beat me to that. Was just going to mention how big the Linux appimage is.

Re: Conda 24267 is way to big
The Win Conda/LP difference is mostly due to the OCCT/VTK packages. The LP versions are built specific for FreeCAD. The Conda versions have every bell and whistle. The non-core stuff is actually quite small as most of it is pure Python.
The main (not all) difference between the Win-Conda .7z and the .dmg and .Appimage is that the .dmg and .AppImage and Win uses .7z
Sometime ago I unpacked the .AppImage and re-compressed with .7zip and ther was about a 40% improvement. Of course it didn't work anymore.
The real problem with all of this is being able to provide "delta" updates. Only .AppImage offers this at the moment.
The docs are huge but not in the Win-Conda build. We need a better way to handle all of this.
If you on Ubuntu, look at the daily PPA, it's the GOLD standard.
