Is anyone up for creating a Fasteners_BOM wiki page ?
edit: I'll help to format if someone fills in the blanks

edit2: typo in wiki link

Hi,
I saw that it would be possible to edit the script to add some customized screws/bolts: in particular, I'd appreciate adding :
1- a bolt rod (like the one for hole tapping but to be used as the "male" bolt) : currently, when I want to create 3D prints screwing to eachother, I first create a hex bolt, then create boxes to boolean cut the "screw" part without the head and without the "plain cylinder" part.. a little bit long and painful
2- for some intermediate or larger diameters. (for large diameters, the 3 or 4mm steps are not always convenient)

Could someone explain what I need to modify in the scripts to add such types ? (which scripts and which details I need to define myself..)

Hi !

I started to use FreeCAD a few days ago so let's say I'm still a newbie  I installed the fastener's workbench and it's a blessing not to have to design these by hand. I found out that I wasn't able to created threaded nuts below M6 size even though I click threaded true. Is it normal :?: Also, are there any plans to add SAE sizes :?: Being in Canada we still work a lot with SAE stuff.

Thanks,

I just created successfully a bolt with 2mm diameter.

If I didn't mess up the sheet metal stuff too bad I'll give this a go?

Of course :)
Fear not, we can always rollback changes in the wiki (https://wiki.freecadweb.org/index.php?t ... on=history) ;)
