I suggest to implement future to select regions of objects intersection (they can be defined as this part incident with some point).
I have example. In the figure below:
there is width line, intersected with ring - this is presented in gray image.
You can want to use only some sub-details of it. All possibilities are colored in different colors.
Determine objects in such way will be useful. Fox example I lost not so small time, to create this demo (with FreeCAD of course).
Select details - not only boolean operqation.

Look at the very top right hand corner of this web page, you should see a link saying "log in", once you have registered with sourceforge you click on that. I think there might even be a link to create account up there as well but I am logged in at the moment so I can't be certain.
