Re: "Solid" clipping plane
Thank you...
I think it should be integrated as an horizontal feature for all workbenches, as suggested by pablogil.

Re: "Solid" clipping plane
- start FreeCAD
- open schenkel.stp
- change to FEM workbench
- select a face of a shape
- click on icon "Add clipping plane on selected face"
- select the long small box to move the clipping plane
- select one of the 6 cubes to zoom the clipping plane icon
- select the slab wireframe box to move the clipping plane icon
- select one of lines between the cubes and the wireframe box to change the clipping plane angle
- you can add as much clipping plane as you want, but only one by one, not more than one at once
what is an horizontal feature ?
Re: "Solid" clipping plane
adding a clipping plane only works on a shape, but it clipps everything including FEM meshes and FEM vtk post processing pipeline as Thomas (thschrader) has shown very well.
Re: "Solid" clipping plane
But the shape or the mesh are hollow inside.i.e. the appearance is not solid.bernd wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 8:52 pm - start FreeCAD

Re: "Solid" clipping plane
ahh no this clipping plane is not solid, but is not in the task panel which is very very important for FEM work flow, because all constraints input is in the task panel and FreeCAD clipping plan uses the task panel as well. Thus the tool was written in FEM to have a clipping plane independent from task panel. This is what HoWil has been asked and what I was refering when I posted first.
Sorry for any inconvenience in the regard of SOLID clipping plane.
BTW: this would be a great add on to the clipping plane anyway ...
My post folloed on this post, but my one was refering to the post of howil.

I would like to see something like this:
For Part and PartDesign and other pobular Workbenches.

Re: "Solid" clipping plane
There are many discussions around this topic. Is there one implementation that already works or does a preferred solution exist?
