Re: Curves workbench
Thanks Chris, that's very kind of you.
The whole WB is not worth going to core FC, of course, but I see it as a sandbox, in order to test and see if some tools deserve going to core FC.
My big goal would be to add Gordon surfaces, as it is an important low-level algorithm.
But I'm not there yet.
However, I would be curious to hear opinions about which CurveWB tools would deserve going to core FC.
I have the feeling that JoinCurves, and BlendCurves are appreciated.
Re: Curves workbench
There are many great workbenches out there doing phantastic things. But as much as I like and use them I think that Curves is something special: It provides rather basic CAD functions which are not possible otherwise.
Asking for tools which should go into core FreeCAD: the two rail sweep comes immediately to mind.

Re: Curves workbench
Um...I'm doing something wrong...I get a bunch of points.
Edit: never mind. I see I should've used the Draft WB > Clone tool.

Re: Curves workbench
Yes, I knew how to move the clones, but, as noted it doesnt seem to work for clones created with Part Design WB that end up in separate bodies. the Multiloft node on the tree shows an error: Shape is not a shell. (Same shapestring (same font, etc.) work using the Clone tool on the Draft or Curves WB.freecad-heini-1 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 9:18 pmPlease check my Freecad File.
Via placement you can change the position of the cloned shapestring.

I chose a arc for simple experimentation. So, setting the angle with position works in this example. But, would like to follow an arbitrary curve though...

Re: Curves workbench
It's a cool new feature for multi loft, not sweep.
Re: Curves workbench
There was a bug with the placement of PartDesign objects.drmacro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 1:20 pm Yes, I knew how to move the clones, but, as noted it doesnt seem to work for clones created with Part Design WB that end up in separate bodies. the Multiloft node on the tree shows an error: Shape is not a shell. It should be fixed now (finger crossed )
Re: Curves workbench
That does appear to have fixed it with Part Design objects.Chris_G wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:20 pmThere was a bug with the placement of PartDesign objects.drmacro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 1:20 pm Yes, I knew how to move the clones, but, as noted it doesnt seem to work for clones created with Part Design WB that end up in separate bodies. the Multiloft node on the tree shows an error: Shape is not a shell.
