Installed rebar-tools and did some playing.
1. the straight/u-shape/stirrup dialogs open, but no reaction to input.
2. drawing a full circle on top of column gives rebar-error
3. drawing 2x half-circle gives a flat face
4. drawing spline works
the rest is done with the "normal" rebar-tool. parametric works.
Look at the console: would be a nice option, when the lower edges of the
shear-reinforcement bars could have the same distance to the inclined surface.

Can you paste the output of the report view (View -> Panels -> Report View) when you click on the "Ok" button of rebar dialog box?

Current rebar addon does not work properly when structural element is derived from a wire. But for testing purpose, you can create structure element directly from structure button (Arch -> Structure). I will surely add support when structural element is derived from any object this week.

Hello everyone,

I have added custom spacing button in a straight rebar dialog box. To try rebar distribution, you can update it from FreeCAD Addon manager. At first, a custom spacing button is set to disable but it automatically enables when you try to edit rebar (double click on rebar). Below are the screenshots of rebar distribution:
