Thanks for the update - I really love reading these.

I can't imagine the challenge it is to maintain these arcane scientific packages that obviously need the love. :)

Thanks! Some of the packages are getting easier (e.g. Gmsh, barring its MPI integration stuff) but the list of packages is also growing, for example I think I'm gonna have to start contributing to the maintenance of PySide 2.

I realize it's a separate issue, but it would be nice to be rid of that shim. Wreaks havoc with my linter. :lol:
