[Solved] Request for Comment: Search and Run a Command

Something that I really miss from my MacOSX days is the systemwide dropdown menu option to type in a command and the UI will show you where or invoke the command for you. What is cool is that over at GIMP they added this feature. Check it out:

Is Launcher mature enough to add in to FC core ?

As for the short answer yes. It does the job it was made for and that i guess is that.

P.S. As for the long answer. The plan i guess always was to first finish all the UX related modules work i have started in the past and after to evaluate what should be upstreamed. I do plan to add an additional feature or two to Launcher. But in its current form (as said) it does what it was made for. Upstreaming evaluation will hopefully happen at the beginning of the FreeCAD 0.19 development cycle. The plan for FreeCAD 0.18 development cycle is to finish the work started.

FYI, just a quick follow-up: this feature was introduced in Gimp 2.10 (clip is from March 2018)
