Sigh, had a similar backyard 3 years ago before moving nearer to the city and to my job. Every day for the house cat (depicted in my avatar) was a field day; in late summer/early fall he'd bring "gifts" daily, sometimes very much alive...
One day I was able to rescue and release one of his catches unharmed; while the rodent scurried off in the brush, I said "See you tomorrow!"
...and I probably did.

I like it if there is snow and ice.
I don't like ice. It is hazardous to walk on completely iced pavement. Not to mention drive. Does it ever happen where you live? Yesterday while scraping the ice on my car's windows (to go purchase ice salt and anti-skid stone - yeah, should have checked earlier if I had enough left from last winter season
) I had to hold onto the car or I would slide away, or worst fall. You can get hurt pretty badly when you slip on ice.
Hey! According to Canada's weather service, "a low pressure system from the American Midwest will give significant snowfall amounts" to my area for the New Year. Jim, I'll see about shipping you some of it!
