Slope analysis for terrains is finally working. Example analysis for a hill.

Re: FreeCAD Trails Workbench (Transportation and Geomatics)
Swept Path Analysis is just a proof-of-concept at the moment. I've really not had time to work on anything Trails related, so it's not had much love lately. I'm hoping things will change to where I can get some regular time on Trails again, but I really don't know when that will be.

I added ranges for analysis. You can determine how many color ranges will be generated for elevations, slopes and directions.

This stuff is simply amazing. I love watching you go at it.HakanSeven12 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 7:23 am I added ranges for analysis. You can determine how many color ranges will be generated for elevations, slopes and directions.

Thanks can you do a favor for me? I really need to non-infinite spiral fix for alignments. If you have time, that would be great.

Arch based distros are up to date but Debian based distros not. If its possible, can you do something for it?looo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 4:12 pmHakanSeven12 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 11:09 am Yes. Re: FreeCAD Trails Workbench (Transportation and Geomatics)
I've been using AutoCAD for Civil design since it was DOS based, with DCA modules (yup, I'm pretty old...). Less and less CAD time as the years went by. I was good with Land Desktop and could fake my way through Civil3D when I finally left CAD work behind, but that was a few years ago.
I need to do some civil work for myself on a parcel of land (building a house), so I started working through the basics of FreeCAD tonight (no Autodesk access any longer). So yeah, very much a newbie to FreeCAD.
My 5 acres was flown with a LiDAR drone. I have a ground LAZ file, SHP file of contours and a TIF/TFW of the DEM. After having issues getting the SHP file to import at the correct scale in FreeCAD (units settings don't seem to have any effect, but this file imports fine into Google Earth Pro) I did some searching and landed on the Trails project. Figured I'd hit the jackpot for sure!
However, I'm getting the 'No module named 'laspy'" error. I found a comment about cloning laspy.git, but frankly, that's a little beyond me at this point.
Digging deeper, I came across a suggestion to use the regular point import command instead, and that's where I'm failing now.
The LAZ file is basically ASCI nonsense... not a text based comma or space delimited file. No preview shows in the importer and of course, nothing imports.
Is there a way to import either the SHP file (properly) or the contents of the LAZ file (ideally - build my own surface) with what is available for FreeCAD? Do I need to see if the drone company can spit out a different file type? I'll want to add PL's based on coordinates from GPS survey, do some road design and perhaps a little earthworks...but I need to get the base topo in the drawing first.
FreeCAD appears quite advanced, but it definitely works differently from AutoCAD/Civil3D...
Thanks!
