Yeah, but i though the truncated version worked as well, I have used it for a while. Perhaps it has never worked and I just haven't noticed or maybe it used to work but no longer does. Curious.

Yes, that sent me a notification, so in summary it looks like you have to add the "=username" in the correct place for the quote to notify, so slightly more complex than what I first said, but still not that bad.

yes indeed! but it also means that I had been 'doing it wrong" for a long time without realising it wasn't working correctly!

I'm not sure if all notifications work. I use the phpbb notification mechanism and don't know if it works with email notifications as well.
