What about...?
2. Discuss the problem on the forum first. Figure out which subforum your problem applies to and post asking the community if you've found a bug. If you're not sure, then please post in the General Help Section. Please be patient, someone in the community will respond eventually.
This seems fine to me. But some of the subforum names are perhaps confusing? Is the 'Draft, Arch & BIM' forum also intended for general Draft issues and bugs?

That might cause someone new to the forum to mistakenly think that the forum is slow to respond, when instead replies usually happen quickly.
True. Perhaps '...and remember the FC motto: It's done when it's done'
I'd like something like "Most topics are quickly answered but some may take more time. Please be patient."

In addition to the present discussion, would it be possible to add a banner on the topic creation page with recall of guidelines such as "Did you include your FC info? Did you add your file?..."

Please no banner. People ignoring the unmissible red part will miss a huge banner as well. Just as they do in the tracker. And it would go on the nervers of every other user.

That's my understanding. The tooltip says: (when you hover over the forum name) "A forum dedicated to the Draft, Arch & BIM workbenches development"

This is also a reasonable variation

This is something other forum software excel at in comparison. Within the response field you'll see a non-invasive "Did you add you version number to this reply?" (or something to the effect of) before you hit the submit button.. But I agree with @chrisb that invasive popups are not the way to go. We will get a lot of complaints as well.

The word 'development' may suggest that it is a forum for specialists, not for the average user. Also quite a few Draft related topics in the Help section are never moved to this dedicated forum which creates confusion (at least in my mind).

You are right. The reason for this may lie in the past, where e.g. Path was only for developers, because it wasn't fully developed then.

In the meantime there are much more user requests in Path, Draft, FEM, ... I never thoght it was a big issue, but it may be time to move them to "Users" or to rethink the whole structure of the forum.
