Thank you very much for the OpenGL hint. That seems to be indeed a showstopper for the current 16" display (They will cope with it, but hopefully many others will follow.). And that's what I wanted to have for the modeling  .
If that's really the case I cannot justify buying a Mac at all (FreeCAD was a major argument), Apple is going to loose another customer to the Linux world. They will cope with it, but hopefully many others will follow.

It will be a shame to loose FreeCAD's #1 OSX user/tester :(
Your FreeCAD life will be easier. I can only imagine what you do with the extra time ;)https://forum.freecadweb.org/memberlist ... memberlist

Given all the predictive modeling lately, when does chrisb hit 25k?

My guess, next Friday :D

I think that if OpenGL is dropped from MacOS, there won't be any more MaCOS FreeCAD users actually... ;)

The question is : will FC commit number overpass @chrisb's posts count ?

1) 2,6 GHz Intel i7 Hexa-Core
2) 2,3 GHz Intel i9 8 core
Don't know if you run already OSX 10.15 Catalina... But that is at this moment much bigger issue for the new mac book pro's. I had to upgrade afer 11 years. and i use now still my old macbook because of i have serval 32 bit programs that i'm unable to run on my new macbook pro!

What Macbook Pro is it? Would you please be so kind and try FreeCAD on it?

Code: Select all

  Model Name:	MacBook Pro
  Model Identifier:	MacBookPro16,1
Processor Name:	6-Core Intel Core i7
  Processor Speed:	2,6 GHz
  Number of Processors:	1
  Total Number of Cores:	6
L2 Cache (per Core):	256 KB
  L3 Cache:	12 MB
  Hyper-Threading Technology:	Enabled
  Memory:	16 GB
FreeCAD runs for me(at least now). I didn't find any problems but is is a short test. but I'm unable to compare to a recent machine since my former Mac book was from 2008.
