Quadro on Linux?

Post by Gr3mlin »

I was wondering if anybody has experience using a quadro on linux? I know there is official drivers for it but is it worth it? My current rig is a I7 7500k with a 1060 card. Im thinking of upgrading to a quadro but I run linux full time. Any feedback from someone who has upgraded and runs linux would be greatly appreciated.

I am affraid there is no single application (maybe Paraview?) on Linux using Quadro proprietary features. Without app support Quadro is just a slower and more expensive GeForce.

slower sounds weird. If they are not as fast as what is possible i beleve that... But the chips are basically the same, only the post production test they score better...
At least that i what i know

Not weird at all. Clocks are decreased for better stability.

FreeCAD is an OpenGL based program, because Coin3D uses OpenGL.
As long as you use only OpenGL, there is no benefit of using a Quadro card vs GeForce.
